My Back-Seat Driver

Cecilia is learning how to drive. Well. Sort of. She has learned about street lights and that green means go and red means stop. For this I can only thank P.S. Eastman and his “Go, Dog. Go!”

It is very cute to see her learning such things that I’ve taken for granted for so long.

On the other hand, every time we stop, she starts repeating how “it’s green” or “it turn green” when either the light changes or she wants it to change. She has programed herself to do this such that she even does it when we are at a stop sign or just paused to turn. And she will say it, and say it, and say it until we acknowledge the desire or recognition of a go-ahead or “green.”

My favorite is after a light turns green and she will coin the book and tell me, “Go, Mommom! Go! Go! Mommom, Go!” If Daddy is driving he gets likewise orders.

Only 2 1/2 and a back seat driver. LOL.
